History - The Kennedys Press Kit
Cover Page & Sampling of Spreads
After several large networks refused to air the controversial miniseries The Kennedys, History Television wanted to express its excitement for the series to the Media through a single Press Kit.
Its brief was full of disparate objectives that needed to be connected coherently. This is how we account for the brief’s ‘Magic Bullet-Point Theory’:
First the Kit presumably must be visually striking, allowing entry with a modern aesthetic while referencing an era several generations back. It would then continue on at a 17 degree angle to feature the show’s top tier talent one gorgeous full-page photo at a time, while at the same time burrowing itself into the show’s content with engaging commentary throughout, keeping the reader turning pages left, then right, then left, then right. At this point a pristine dvd bearing the campaign’s key art would emerge allowing the reader to exit the kit with escalating momentum to watch the screener.
That’s some Kit.
And several unique Publicity opportunities resulted from it, as well as a number of positive reviews that were later leveraged in the campaign creative.
